Information we receive

• Inquiries. When you email us, we receive your name, email address, and the information you include in your message. The website contact form prepares a message in your email application; you must send that email for us to receive it.
• Donations. Our donation services provide us with donor contact details, donation amounts and dates, transaction status, recurring gift information, and any giving preference you select. Payment services collect the payment and billing information needed to process your gift.
• Website use. Our hosting and other website services receive technical information when your browser connects to them, such as an IP address, browser information, and the pages or resources requested.

Please do not include payment card numbers, bank credentials, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information in a message to the foundation.

How information is used

We use information to respond to inquiries, administer donations and recurring gifts, provide acknowledgments and receipts, maintain foundation records, understand giving preferences, and operate our website. Information may also be used to address payment disputes, prevent misuse, and meet accounting, tax, and other legal obligations.

A giving preference helps us understand the work you care about. It is optional, and the foundation retains discretion over how all gifts are used.

Donorbox and Stripe

Our donation form is provided by Donorbox, with payments processed through Stripe. Donorbox supplies donor and transaction records to the foundation. Full payment card details are handled by the payment services rather than entered into our website contact form.

These providers also process information for their own service, security, and legal purposes. Their policies describe their practices, including payment information, device information, cookies, and privacy choices: Donorbox Privacy Policy and Stripe Privacy Policy. A wallet or other payment method you choose may have its own privacy policy.

Website services and cookies

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views and site performance. We serve the foundation website’s typefaces directly from our website. Embedded donation and payment services may retrieve their own fonts and other resources from external providers.

Embedded donation and payment services may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for their features, security, and other purposes described in their policies. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies or third-party services may limit donation features.

Optional Google Analytics

If you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit, how they reach donation and artist-grant information, and where they continue or leave those journeys. This can include page views, referral sources, clicks, selected giving areas, checkout steps, donation amounts and currencies, and transaction identifiers supplied by Donorbox. These reports help us improve the website; they are separate from our donation and accounting records.

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers and receives technical information about your browser and device. We do not intentionally send your name, email address, postal address, phone number, contact-message contents, or payment-card or bank-account details to Google Analytics. We do not enable advertising personalization or Google Signals for this website.

Google Analytics stays off until you choose “Allow analytics.” You can decline and still use the website or donate. Use “Analytics preferences” in the footer to change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawal stops future collection by our Analytics setup; it does not remove reports already collected. We store your preference in your browser. Donation and payment providers' own services and privacy practices remain separate, including when you open their hosted pages.

When information is shared

Information may be made available to foundation personnel, service providers, and professional advisers as needed to handle inquiries, administer gifts, operate the foundation, or maintain its records. We may also disclose information when required by law or as needed to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims.

The foundation is based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries as described in their privacy policies.

Records and security

Donation and correspondence records may need to be retained for accounting, tax, legal, and administrative purposes. How long a record is needed depends on its purpose and applicable obligations. A request to delete information may not apply to records we must retain.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe information connected with the foundation has been misused, please contact us so we can review the concern.

Your choices and requests

You can ask about the personal information the foundation holds about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern using the contact details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Available rights and any exceptions depend on applicable law.

For a recurring gift, use the donor portal linked in your Donorbox communications or contact the foundation for help. Changes to a recurring payment do not necessarily delete the records of earlier donations. For information a service provider handles independently, you can also contact that provider through its privacy policy.
